Akshay Kumar On Dealing With Failure: ‘I Had 14 Flops, Thought My Career Was Over’
It is firmly believed that success doesn’t come easy and one has to undergo a lot of hard work, struggles and patience before achieving heights. Such is the case of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, whose journey from being an underdog to now becoming India’s one of the most loved superstars has been full of ups and downs, but worth it. At the launch event of 5th edition of HT’s Great Indian Football Action (HT GIFA), the Mission Mangal actor opened up on the time when he thought that his Bollywood career was almost over.

The actor, who has been through a lot of hardships before making it big in the industry, revealed that, at one point in time, he gave a streak of 14 flop films. And during that phase, Akki almost concluded that he is over. Later on, Akshay underwent martial arts’ training and that made him prepared enough. “There was a time when I had 14 flops and I believed my career was over. I was dejected, but it was my training as a martial artist that came handy. It teaches you discipline,” said Akshay Kumar.

Moreover, Akshay Kumar also opened up on his upcoming comedy Housefull 4, the trailer of which was recently unveiled and opened to a good response. “I am going to lose all the respect I have earned with serious cinema with Housefull 4. Every time I want a break, I do a Housefull film. It is a fun film; I have fun on the sets. Having said that, making people laugh with slapstick is the toughest of jobs,” he said.

Housefull 4, which also stars Kriti Sanon, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead roles, will release on Diwali this year.
